What this site is
HeaterLeak is a free educational tool that helps you understand a leaking water heater. It provides general guidance and typical cost ranges — it is not professional plumbing, engineering, or safety advice, and it is not a substitute for a licensed plumber inspecting your unit. Read the safety disclaimer before acting on anything here.
No warranty
Everything on HeaterLeak is offered as is, with no warranty at all — express or implied — and in particular none as to merchantability, accuracy, or fitness for any particular purpose. Water heaters, their installations, and local plumbing codes vary widely, and the tool cannot see your unit, so a result may simply not fit your situation. Check anything here against your own heater before you act on it.
Limitation of liability
So far as the law permits, neither Worklifted Technologies nor the people who contribute to HeaterLeak carry liability for injury, flooding, ruined property, or money spent because of something you read here or did next. A water heater puts standing water beside a gas burner or high-voltage wiring; when a job looks bigger than you, that is the point to pay a licensed professional.
